Bank Building, Whittier Blvd, East Los Angeles

Breeze block, so called because of its cut out patterns, was used extensively by architects in the 1950s and '60s.  This bank, still in operation, makes great use of the building material for its design and structural capabilities, and elevating its appearance well above that of plain cinderblock.
