It's rare to find a building in Los Angeles that has stood for nearly a century, it's rarer still to find one that has continued to house the same kinds of businesses and services throughout its history. What is typical of the city is how much the general cityscape has changed. Buildings are torn down and replaced with new ones, sometimes improving the fabric of the neighborhood, other times not. In this case, the Wilshire Medical Building, designed by John Parkinson and built in 1928, is still filled with doctors' offices and medical facilities.
